Good morning, Spiders. New Spider women's basketball coach Alisa Kresge will be officially welcomed to Richmond at an evening reception on Wednesday! The event will be held in Spider Hall in the Queally Athletics Center. The program, which will include welcome remarks, the introduction of Kresge's staff, and a question-and-answer session with Voice of the Spiders Bob Black, will begin at 7 PM. The public is invited, and fans are encouraged to RSVP in advance. Dessert and soft drinks will be provided. Fans not able to attend can watch the event live on the SpiderTV YouTube page.

🔼 Champions! The men’s tennis team won the Atlantic 10 title for the first time since 2006! Cole Brashear clinched the championship point to secure a 4-3 win over No. 3 Dayton. On Friday, the team shocked No. 1 seed VCU 4-3 in the semifinal, ending VCU’s streak of eight straight titles and securing Richmond’s first win vs the Rams since 1990! Richmond will await its postseason destination during the NCAA Men's Tennis Selection Show today at 4 pm.

🔼 Undefeated! The No. 4 men’s lacrosse team capped off an undefeated Atlantic 10 season on Friday with a 19-10 win over High Point. This marks the program’s third undefeated conference season and the first time the program has achieved the feat in back-to-back seasons. The Spiders clinched the Atlantic 10 regular-season title and earned the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship, both for the second consecutive year. Aidan O’Neil led the team with five goals. Gavin Creo and Lucas Littlejohn had five points.

🔼  History Made. The No. 22 women’s lacrosse team beat Duquesne 21-6 on Saturday. The Spiders captured the program’s first outright regular-season championship! Richmond went 9-0 in Atlantic 10 play, winning the outright regular-season title and clinching the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship Tournament. The Spiders are now 13-3 overall this season.

🔼 Series Win! The baseball team won the first game of its series against VCU on Friday. Chase Topolski led the Spiders on the mound to a 2-1 win. Dylan Winebrenner hit a solo homer and Evan Wilson hit an RBI double. The men secured the series win on Saturday with an 8-4 victory. Wilson and RJ Rickabaugh each hit homers. Rickabaugh’s was a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth. The men fell in game three 2-1.

🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA

Wrapped Up. The women’s tennis team wrapped up its season on Friday night in the Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals. The Spiders fell to No. 2 seed VCU 4-2.

This makes the # consecutive year the Spiders have made it to the semifinal round.

Top 3. The track and field team competed at the Penn Relays this past weekend. The distance medley relay team was the highlight of the weekend, finishing in third place. The 4×800m relay took eighth place. Molly Wise finished ninth in the long jump.
