🔼 Preseason Honors. The football team had six players named to the 2026 Patriot League Football Preseason All-League Team. Camden Byrd, Aziz Foster-Powell, Ronald Anderson, Carter Glassmyer, Jordan Allen and Tayshaun Burney were selected. Byrd was also selected as the Patriot League Football Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Richmond was selected to finish tied for third in the 2026 Patriot League Football Preseason Poll, receiving 57 points alongside William & Mary.

He is a redshirt freshman forward who is returning to playing basketball after an emergency wisdom tooth surgery last season at Butler. McCaffery, the son of Penn coach Fran McCaffery, talks about growing up in a basketball family, being on the other side of an iconic Spiders moment, and what he brings to this year’s team.
