🔼 Opening Weekend. The baseball team opened its season at home against Monmouth. The Spiders fell in game one 4-3 on Friday. Evan Wilson collected his first collegiate hit as a pinch hitter. Richmond came back on Saturday to sweep Monmouth in a doubleheader, winning 7-5 and 10-8. In game one, Dylan Winebrenner and Michael Elko led the team with two hits each. In game two, Bijan Anvar picked up the win after pitching 1.2 innings and recording four strikeouts.

🔼 Rivalry Won. The No. 8 men’s lacrosse team faced in-state rival No. 13 Virginia and won 18-12. Aidan O’Neil led the team with five goals and one assist for six points. Joe Sheridan was right behind with four goals and one assist for five points. Goalkeeper Connor Knight had 18 saves.

🔼 At the Top. The men’s golf team is tied for first at the Loyola Intercollegiate Opener. The Spiders have a score of 280 (-8). Carson Baez leads the team with a score of four under par and is in fifth place individually.

🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA

Career Milestone. The women’s basketball team beat Davidson 65-43 on Saturday. The Spiders are now 22-4 overall and 12-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Maggie Doogan led the team with 26 points and she surpassed 2,000 career points.

Doogan is the # Spider in program history to surpass 2,000 career points.

🕷️ ONE BIG THING

On Track. The track and field team competed in the Darius Dixon Invitational. On day one, Molly Wise won the long jump. This marks her sixth-straight meet winning first-place in the event. On day two, Lily Strebel led the Spiders with a fifth-place finish in the 3,000m. Richmond also competed in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Hallie Muniz set the school record in the 5,000m, running a 16:33.09.
