Spiders Morning Jolt 3/13: Back-To-Back Titles for Men's Golf

The men's golf team won a second straight tournament title.


Good morning, Spiders. Congrats to Maggie Doogan for being named a 2025-26 All-American Honorable Mention by USA TODAY Sports! She was also named a finalist for the Katrina McClain Award.

🔼 Back-to-Back! The men’s golf team captured its second straight tournament title and third of the season at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate. This marks the program’s first back-to-back wins in 21 seasons under coach Adam Decker. Richmond finished the tournament with a team score of 858 (-6). Carson Baez finished tied for first individually. Lucas Rizo-Patron tied for ninth individually.

🔼 On the Team. Men’s lacrosse player Hunter Smith was named to the USILA Team of the Week. Smith scored a goal, led the team with three caused turnovers and added four ground balls in No. 2 Richmond’s win over No. 13 Georgetown.

🔼 Sweep! The men’s tennis team swept The Citadel on Wednesday. The Spiders beat The Citadel 7-0. Richmond is now 5-6 this season. The men won the doubles point and six singles matches.

🔼 Wrapped Up. The men’s basketball team faced Loyola Chicago in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship on Wednesday. The Spiders fell 75-67. Richmond finishes the season at 15-17 overall.

🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA

Double Honors. The men’s tennis team swept the Atlantic 10 Conference weekly honors. Davis Wiley was named the Player of the Week.

Top Player. Women’s tennis player Lucy Webber was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week. This is the first weekly award of the season for the Spiders and the first of Webber’s career. She went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles last week. She competed in the No. 4 singles position and No. 2 doubles spot.
