🔼 Let Him Cook. Lou Baker put together an impressive finish a the Georgetown Intercollegiate. Baker was Richmond Men’s Golf’s top finisher with a score of 223 (+7) after 54 holes. He tied for 17th among 75 total golfers. The team finished in eighth place out of 13 teams with a total score of 911 (+47). ⛳️ See the other golfers’ scores here.

🔼  Polling Time. Can you believe that basketball season is almost here? The Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll just dropped, and Neal Quinn was named a Third-Team All-Conference selection. Quinn was Richmond’s second-leading scorer last season with 9.5 points per game. He is ranked ninth in field goal percentage (54.2), 10th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9), and 14th in assists per game (2.9) in the Atlantic 10 last season. 🏀 Read more about Quinn here.

Sweet Amount. Now that the preseason men’s basketball poll has come out, we can add another tally to the number of Spiders who have been picked for the poll. Chris Mooney has been at Richmond for 19 seasons and has almost that many athletes earn Preseason All-Atlantic 10 honors.

Spider-ica. Select Spider student-athletes took a trip down to Costa Rica to learn the intersections between sport, sustainability, and social justice. Each day, a recap is sent out about what they did, and you can follow their journey here. Recently, the group learned about the natural landscape, local animals, and different crops grown in the area. More adventure is on the way, so keep an eye on the website for trip updates.
