🔼 Bob in the Bronx. Our very own Bob Black, Voice of the Spiders and SpiderTV, traveled up north to Yankee Stadium to catch up with a pair of Spider Baseball alumni. Mark Budzinski is the First Base Coach for the Blue Jays, and Sean Casey is the Yankees Hitting Coach. Budzinski was drafted in 1995 and made his MLB debut in 2003 on the Cincinnati Reds. Casey, aka “The Mayor,” was also drafted in 1995 and played for 12 seasons in the MLB.

🔼 Behind the Scenes. While not on the field, court, or track, student-athletes are learning even more about their sport and bodies in the classroom. Spider Performance and Development hosted a Women’s Health Symposium where Dr. Anna Bauer spoke about how the things female athletes do on a daily basis affect their bodies and mental health. 🙋‍♀️ Read about what Dr. Bauer discussed here.

🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA

Going Down. Football takes on Hampton tomorrow, and they will be wearing special helmet decals for College Football Mental Health Week. Be sure to attend the game to see the decals and, hopefully, a Spider win. Last season, the Spiders took down Hampton by a huge 31 points.

Double W. Tristan Wheeler is not only a superior football player and captain...he is focused on his school work and getting good grades. And what do these achievements lead to? Wheeler has been selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy. There are a total of 201 athletes up for the trophy, and the finalists will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship.
