Spiders Morning Jolt 3/4: Doogan is Player of the Year

Maggie Doogan earned A-10 Player of the Year for the second year in a row.


Good morning, Spiders. Men’s lacrosse player Joe Sheridan was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week. He led with four goals in Richmond’s win over No 5 Cornell last week.

🔼 Conference Honors. The Atlantic 10 Conference honored three women’s basketball players. Maggie Doogan was named the Player of the Year for the second-straight season. She is the only Spider in program history to earn the honor multiple times. She was also named to the All-Conference First Team and All-Academic Team. Rachel Ullstrom earned All-Conference First Team honors. Ally Sweeney was named to the Second Team.

🔼 Top 5. The women’s golf team finished fifth at the More Than Golf Invitational. The Spiders finished with a team score of 923 (+47). Hannah Lydic led the team, finishing in 11th individually. Maya Beasley followed in 18th place.

Four swim and dive athletes were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team. Lena Amare, Presley Baber, Caitlyn Hughes and Julia Krichev were honored. To be nominated, student-athletes had to be at least sophomores and maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Earlier in the season, all four aided in the team's 3.79 GPA during the fall 2025 semester, earning recognition on the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team.

Weekly Honor. Women’s basketball player Maggie Doogan earned her eighth Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week. She led the Spiders to a 2-0 finish to the regular season and helped Richmond clinch the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship. Doogan averaged 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 100 percent from the free throw line across the two victories over Rhode Island and Saint Joseph's.
