🔼 Rule the Mountain. The Spiders field hockey team took down Appalachian State 2-1 on Friday. The women bounced back in the last two quarters to take the dub with goals by Madelyn Curtis and Valen Luna Paratore. Goalkeeper Kristen Rake had a career-high eight saves in the game. Next, they beat Temple in overtime, 3-2. Avery Russell scored the game-winning goal 2.5 minutes into overtime.

🔼 Down by 1. The football team faced Wofford, falling 26-19. The men started the scoring off with a safety by Wayne Galloway. Aziz Foster-Powell and Camden Coleman recorded touchdowns on the ground for the Spiders, who will look for their first win Saturday vs. Charleston Southern. 🏈 Read more about the game.

🔼 Top 5. The men’s golf team is competing in the Golfweek Challenge at True Blue Golf Club. Three Spiders shot under par in the opening round on Sunday— Cole Ekert (-2), Carson Baez (-2) and Drew Carlin (-1). Overall, the team sits in fourth place at 286 (-2). ⛳️ See the other golfer’s scores.
