🔼 First Win Feeling. Richmond field hockey logged its first win of the season against James Madison with a 3-0 shutout this past weekend. Both teams had seven shots and five shots on goal, the Spiders just had a little bit more on their targets as they pulled through with Kaitlyn Csensits, Stevie Drum, and Alexandria Lavelle each scoring a goal. Up next? The Spiders’ next game is at home against American this Friday with a start time of 5:00pm ET. 📈 Take a look at the full game stats here.
🔼 Front And Center. With Reece Udinski away in Canada playing with the Montreal Alouettes, there’s a new man under center—Kyle Wickersham will be starting against Morgan State in this weekend’s regular season kickoff. The redshirt sophomore has played four games as the primary backup to Joe Mancuso and Reece Udinski the past two seasons, throwing his first touchdown pass last season in the game against Stony Brook. The other quarterback options the Spiders have are redshirt junior Jackson Hardy, redshirt freshman Ashten Snelsire, and freshman Camden Coleman. 🏈 Read more about Richmond’s quarterback quartet here.
🔼 Bounce Back. With a Monarch goal in the 10th minute of action, Richmond women’s soccer dropped a tough 1-0 match last night at Old Dominion. With the loss, the Spiders fell to 1-2-1 overall, but they’re back home in just a few days with Radford coming to town on Thursday afternoon with a 4:30pm ET kickoff. 🗣️ Check out head coach Adam Denton’s takeaways from the match.
🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA
Another go ‘round. Richmond men’s basketball is seeing double this year as the Spiders start off their season for the second time in a row against VMI.
Last season was… well, it was a lot of fun with the Spiders winning by 21 and leading for all but the first eight minutes.
Today’s question—what was the score of the game vs. VMI last season?
