🔼 Getting Close. The soccer team faced Charlotte in its first conference match and fell by just one goal in the second half. Charlotte scored first, and then Hannah Antonick tied it up off of a penalty kick. The Spiders got ahead when Molly Wierman scored in the second half, but the defense couldn’t hold Charlotte, and the 49ers won 3-2.

🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA

Speedy Gonzales. With cross country competing in the Adidas XC Challenge today, we are going to look at Caroline Donohoe who is returning for her sophomore year on the women’s cross country team. Last season, she finished very high up at the Navy Cross Country Invitational with a personal best of 20:55.7 in the 5k.

Today’s question—what place did Donohoe finish in at the Navy Cross Country Invitational in the 5k?

🕷️ ONE BIG THING

Spider Mentality. Kyle Schmidt is not only a very talented baseball player, he is also an inventor. As a catcher, there is a lot of resistance training, and he could never find the space to do it. Schmidt took the problem into his own hands and developed the CRT Belt. His invention caught the eyes of other MLB teams and big corporations like Dick’s Sporting Goods and Scheels. The CRT Belt is now on sale and used by many pro and college teams, including Richmond baseball.
