🔼 Turnover Time. Spiders football took total control of the Camels with a huge second-half performance to win 44-13 at homecoming. Jerry Garcia Jr. caught a 38-yard pass for the first touchdown in the second quarter. Savon Smith added another six points with his 21-yard run to the end zone. Then, four touchdowns were scored in the fourth quarter, starting with a 42-yard interception by Wayne Galloway. Smith ran six yards, Milan Howard caught a 32-yard pass, and Fonnae Webb ran three yards, all for touchdowns. Overall, the team had three turnovers in the second half that led them to get 21 points, and they now lead the nation with five defensive touchdowns and 23 turnover gains. 🏈 Read more about the victory here.

🔼 Run This Town. Cross country competed in the Atlantic 10 Championships, and the women had an outstanding performance as they took third place with 122 points. Elizabeth Stockman led the Spiders with a time of 21:06.66 and finished fourth. Madison Trippett finished fifth with a time of 21:09.38, and Laurel Kurtz ended in eleventh, running a 21:33.63. The men finished tenth, and Jordan Bendura led the team with a 24:56.90 time in 36th place. 🏃 Read more about the meet here.

Next Up. With football on a bye week, the next Spiders team to play on campus is men’s basketball, which will open its season in the Robins Center against VMI a week from today. The team’s new starting backcourt, grad student Jordan King and senior DeLonnie Hunt, sat down with Voice of the Spiders Bob Black to talk about their paths to Richmond, finding their spot in the Richmond offense, and their plan to play “ego-less basketball.”
