🔼 Team Effort. The men’s basketball team took Southern Illinois into overtime on Saturday and won 93-84. The men trailed by as many as nine in the second half, rallied back to tie the game 74-74 at the end of regulation and took control in overtime. Aiden Argabright led the team with 18 points. Will Johnston was right behind with 17 points. The Spiders shot 50.8% from the field and are now 9-1 this season.

🔼 Extinguished. The women’s basketball team beat the Liberty Flames 76-61. Maggie Doogan recorded her 30th career game with 20 or more points. She led the team with 24 points. The Spiders shot 51.7% from the field and made six three-pointers. Rachel Ullstrom surpassed 500 career rebounds, becoming the 26th Spider to hit the milestone.

🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA

Open Waters. Four members of the swim and dive team competed in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Open Water Championships: Natalie Stuart, Kaitlyn Bauer, Carys Edgar and MaryAgnes Smith.

Finalists. Maggie Doogan, Aidan O’Neil, Aaron Roussell and the men’s lacrosse team have been named finalists for the 2026 RVA Sports Awards. Doogan and O’Neil are in the running for the Female and Male Athletes of the Year categories. Roussell is a Coach of the Year nominee. The men’s lacrosse team is up for Moment of the Year.
