Spiders Morning Jolt 3/30: MLAX Sets Record in 24-8 Win
The men's lacrosse team set multiple records in its win over Hobart.

Good morning, Spiders. There’s only one more day left in March. Time flies! Here’s what Athletics Director John P. Hardt enjoyed most about this month.

🔼 Program Record! The men’s lacrosse team set a program record in its 24-8 win over Hobart. The Spiders controlled possession throughout, collecting 51 ground balls to Hobart's 19 and firing 53 shots compared to 21 for the Statesmen. Richmond also set a program record with 30 faceoff wins, its most ever in a single game, and was effective on clears, completing 14 of 15 attempts while Hobart finished 14 of 20. Richmond's offensive output marked the second-most goals in program history, while the team's 51 ground balls represented the third-most in program history.
🔼 Series Win. The baseball team started its series against Rhode Island on Friday with a 6-1 win. Sean Scanlon hit his third home run of the season. Chase Topolski kept the Rams off the board for six frames. The men shut down the Rams 17-2 on Saturday. The Spiders had a season-high 17 hits. Joey Giordano earned the win on the mound. The men fell in the final game 2-1.

🔼 Many Goals. The women’s lacrosse team beat St. Bonaventure 19-6 on Saturday. Bridget Lonsinger led all players with a career-high seven points on four goals and three assists. Abby Francioli made six saves.

The women’s tennis team beat East Carolina #-# on Saturday.

On Track. The track and field team competed at the Raleigh Relays. On day one, Alexandra Cahill collected a season best time of 15.96 on the 100m hurdles. On day two, Molly Wise finished seventh in the long jump. Richmond took 13th overall with a season-best time of 3:48.37 in the 4×400m relay.
