For the first time in his career, Michael Elko earned a weekly league honor. Elko was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week after going 11-for-15 with a .733 batting average. He collected 11 RBIs, four doubles, three home runs, three walks and scored seven runs.

Golden Guy. Baseball player Aaron Whitley has been named USA Baseball’s Golden Spikes Award Week Five Player of the Week. He batted a .600 on the week, helping the Spiders beat Longwood 12-2 and sweeping the St. Bonaventure series. In the series, Whitley tallied 10 hits and 12 RBIs. ⚾️ Here’s more about his performance.
