Spiders Morning Jolt 8/25: Perfect Combo

Today, we're looking at Ryan Coll on the Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List.

Good morning. On the gridiron, they may look mean and tough… but in reality? Richmond football is full of comedians. If you ever need a laugh, the team votes Bryson Parker and Nick DeGennaro as their top jokesters.

What else are we mixing into today’s edition?

🔼 Perfect Combination. The only combo better than Ryan Coll and the Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List is peanut butter and chocolate, folks—and the Richmond offensive lineman (along with the rest of the offensive line) did their job last year, allowing quarterback Reece Udinski to throw for 3,614 yards and 29 touchdown passes.

Coll has been raking in the preseason honors: Bluebloods, Phil Steele, Stats Perform All-America, and Preseason All-CAA nods. The Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch list has 720 position players on it, and the select finalists will play in what is known as the best college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process.

🔼 Punter From Down Under. In his third year at Richmond, Australian native Aaron Trusler has gained a whole bunch of toughness and has loved his time being a Spider.

And while the Aussie didn’t have a high school season, he did go through the Pro Kick program and said the main difference between Aussie rules and U.S. rules is how specific you have to be. It was more free-flowing in Australia, and Trusler had to get used to being more tedious with every move he makes playing in the States.
