Spiders Morning Jolt 10/23: Pick-Six Glory

Today, we're looking at the performance of the Spiders defense and special teams against North Carolina A&T.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Special Plays. The Spiders defense and special teams were on top of their game against North Carolina A&T. Richmond beat the Aggies 33-10 and used some crazy plays to do so. Kyle Wickersham passed two yards to Quanye Veney for the first touchdown. Trae Tomlinson jumped on a muffed punt return, and nine plays later, Andrew Lopez made a 21-yard field goal. Jabril Hayes got his first career pick-six. Trey Mancuso blocked an A&T punt, and Quintarius Jefferies scooped it up and took it to the end zone for his first career score. To end it, Aaron Banks got an interception and ran it to the end zone for his second touchdown of the season. 🏈 Read more about the game here.

🔼 Overtime Overload. Coming into the game, Spiders field hockey stood 7-8 overall and Yale was 6-8. The close match up ended in overtime play where Yale found the back of the net first. The Spiders had a strong second quarter with two goals and Yale matched them with two goals in the fourth quarter to tie the game, and win in overtime 3-2. Madi Hyatt and Stevie Drum were the two Richmond goal scorers. 🏑 See what else happened in the game here.

Almost Done. The football team is now on a three-game win streak and has its homecoming game this Saturday against Campbell. The Spiders currently stand 4-1 in conference play and look to end the season with a couple of more wins.
