🔼 HOF. Richmond Athletics announced its 2026 Hall of Fame Class. The Class of 2026 consists of Tim Bezbatchenko (Men's Soccer 2000-2003), Vito Chiaravalloti (Baseball 2000-2003), Eric McBride (Football 2007-2010), Brittani Shells (Women's Basketball 2007-2011) and Jessica Witt Leach (Women's Swimming & Diving 2004-2008). The 49th Hall of Fame class will be inducted during a ceremony Friday night, October 23. Ticket registration for the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Reception is available.

🔼 Crazy Work. Football player Daniel Sellers was named to Bruce Feldman’s 2026 college football “Freaks List.” Sellers is ranked No. 98 overall on Feldman’s top 101 listing of the most physically gifted athletes in college football. Last season, Sellers was on the list and made 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and forced two fumbles. Richmond strength coach Scott Brincks said, “He's a freak in the weight room because he can squat 600 pounds, he can bench 455-plus and can power clean around 365, and he moves so fast.”

Anotha’ One. The track and field team earned NCAA Division I All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Richmond posted a 3.51 GPA during the 2026 season. The program holds one of the nation’s longest active streaks of academic recognition.

This marks the ## straight year the team has earned the honor.

🔼 Welcome! The football staff added Adam Tate as the Director of Football Operations/Recruiting Coordinator. Tate has nearly two decades of experience. He’s worked in administration and operations at Rutgers, Tennessee, Georgia and Ohio State. In his role with the Spiders, Tate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the football program while coordinating Richmond's recruiting efforts, including team travel, meals, recruiting operations and other administrative and logistical needs of the program.
