Good morning, Spiders. He’s back! Maurice Joseph has returned to the men’s basketball program as an assistant coach. He was previously on the staff in 2022. Joseph served as an assistant at Butler over the last four seasons.

🔼 Senior Day Dub. The men’s lacrosse team won its Senior Day game against Saint Joseph’s 13-11 on Saturday. The Spiders are undefeated at home this regular season, going 8-0, and are on an 11-game win streak in Atlantic 10 Conference games. Lucas Littlejohn led the team with four goals. Gavin Creo followed with two goals.

🔼 Court Rules. The men’s tennis team swept Coppin State at home on Friday, 7-0 and beat Fordham 4-2 on Saturday. On Sunday, the Spiders dominated Hampden-Sydney College 7-0. The women split their weekend. They beat George Mason 4-0 on Friday, but fell to ODU in a tight match on Saturday, 4-3.

🔼 On Base. The baseball team faced Dayton in a 3-game series. The Spiders fell in game one 10-2, but came back to win game two 16-6. Joey Giordano improved to 9-0 on the mound this season. Six home runs were hit in the game by five players: Evan Wilson, Michael Elko, Dylan Winebrenner, Sean Scanlon, and Chris Schaller. Richmond secured the series win with an 11-9 victory on Sunday. This marks the team’s fourth-straight A-10 Series win. Three Spiders hit homers and Jackson Hinchliffe earned the win on the mound.

🔼 Run It. The track and field team competed in the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championships. Andy Condon captured gold in the 5,000m with a time of 14:45.40. Caroline Donohoe earned silver in the 800m. Cooper Groat got bronze in the 800m.

Hall of Fame! University of Richmond Deputy Athletics Director LaRee Sugg was one of four individuals inducted into the Chesterfield County Sports Hall of Fame.

Senior Slay. The women’s lacrosse team beat Davidson 16-7 in its Senior Day game on Saturday. Alexis Morton led the team with 10 points on five goals and five assists. Meghan Rode followed with five points on three goals and two assists. The Spiders are now 12-3 overall and 8-0 in A-10 games.
