🔼 Closing Time. Big time players make big time plays in big time games.

That’s exactly what the #2-ranked Richmond men’s lacrosse team did on Saturday breaking open a close game with a six-goal fourth quarter to come away with a 14-10 victory over #13 Georgetown, to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Lucas Littlejohn and Gavin Creo led the Richmond offense with hat tricks, while Daniel Picart and Aidan O'Neil finished with two goals and two assists each, with O'Neil now sitting one goal shy of the 100th goal of his career.

🔼 Bragging Right Secured. Know what’s even better than taking down your city rival? Doing so in record-breaking fashion.

Senior Alexis Morton tied a single-game program record as the Richmond women’s lacrosse team opened up Atlantic 10 play with a decisive 15-6 win over VCU on Saturday afternoon.

With 11 points, including eight assists, Morton tied the single-game program records in both categories on the day. She is just the fourth Spider in program history to reach 11 points in a game and the second ever to tally eight assists in a game.

🔼 Young Gun. Even before stepping on the court at the Atlantic 10 Tournament, freshman guard Aiden Argabright is already bringing home hardware.

On Sunday, HoopsHD named Argabright the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year.

In its annual end-of-season conference awards, HoopsHD tabbed Argabright as the top freshman in the Atlantic 10 after he led all A-10 first-year players with 10.8 points per game while ranking second among conference freshmen in assists (1.9 per game) and third in steals (1.2 per game). 

🏀 More On The Award

🔼 Fought Til The End. The Richmond women’s hoops squad fought their way into the Atlantic 10 Semifinals yet again, but fell short to second-seeded George Mason on Saturday evening.

The Spiders finished with 26 wins for the third straight season and will await their postseason destination.

The Madness Has Officially Arrived. This week, the Richmond men’s hoops squad heads to Pittsburgh to take on the gauntlet that is the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

First up for the Spiders is 14th-seeded Loyola Chicago on Wednesday afternoon. A victory in the opening round would send Richmond into the second round to take on sixth-seeded Davidson on Thursday night.
