Today, we're looking at men's and women's basketball's first games of the season.

Good morning. Lacrosse is preparing for its season start in February, and to do so, the women got their rings from last season’s A-10 Championships, and the men released the 2024 home schedule.

🔼 Basketball Begins. The time has come. The men and women tip off their seasons tonight! Head coach Chris Mooney had a lot to say about what the team is working on to prepare for its matchup against VMI. The women face Duke today, and two transfers are in the spotlight. We sat down with Lauren VanArsdale and Faye Parker to see how they are feeling at Richmond and what they are excited about this season. 🏀 Get your men’s basketball tickets for tonight’s game here.

🔼 Academic Weapon. Molly Wierman finished her collegiate soccer experience with the Spiders this season and was named to the 2023 Atlantic 10 Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team. She started in all 18 matches, led the team with four goals, and had two assists. ⚽️ Read more about Wierman here.

🔼 More to Add. Another field hockey athlete received a postseason honor, and this time, it’s Stevie Drum for the 2023 Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic Team. Drum started in 17 of 18 contests and led the team with 17 points on eight goals and one assist. 🏑 Read more about Drum here.

Schedule Drop. Men’s lacrosse is back! Get ready for another eventful season as the Spiders are led by head coach Dan Chemotti. There are going to be some tough matchups for home games with national runner-up Duke, in-state foe Virginia, and perennial powers Georgetown and Maryland. A total of eight games will be at home, and the first one is on Feb. 3. Season tickets will be available on Nov. 20, and single-game tickets will be sold in January. 🥍 Here’s more info on the schedule.
