The men's basketball team defeats No. 16 Dayton 69-64.

Good morning. Best men’s basketball game this season so far. No doubt about it. The Spiders upset No. 16 Dayton in a 69-64 victory in front of a sold-out Robins Center!!

🔼 Upset Alert! The men’s basketball team extended its win streak to 10 after defeating No. 16 Dayton 69-64 at home. Jordan King led the game with 17 points, and Dji Bailey and Isaiah Bigelow were right behind with 12 a piece. Bigelow earned a double-double, getting 15 rebounds in the game to go along with his 12 points. 🏀 Here’s more about the dub.

🔼 Double Dubs. The men’s tennis team swept this past weekend as the Spiders won 4-3 against Army and 4-0 against Rider and Sacred Heart. Davis Wiley was the clincher as he won his singles matches for the Spiders victory against all three teams. The men are now 3-0 and play VCU next on Feb. 7. 🎾 See the match scores against Rider and Sacred Heart here.

🔼 Rollin’ Along. The women’s basketball team gained its eighth win of conference play as they took down Saint Louis 72-61. Addie Budnik had her 16th career game with 20 or more points. Overall, the team shot 53.7% from the field and 71.4% from the free throw line. Katie Hill posted a season-high 10 rebounds. 🏀 Here’s more about the win.

🔼 First Dub. The women’s tennis team started its spring season out strong with a 4-3 win over Navy. Lainey O’Neil took it into her own hands to score the final point for the Spiders to clinch the win. O’Neil won her singles match on court six, 6-4, 6-2. The women secured the doubles point with two wins and earned three wins in singles play. 🎾 See each match score here.

🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA

Tie Broken. The men’s basketball team is now 7-0 in conference play, putting them first in the conference. They also broke Dayton’s 13-game win streak, which was the longest active streak in all of Division I. Now, the Spiders have a 10-game win streak, which earns them a new ranking.

She Does it Again. First place in the triple jump and second place all-time for Richmond. At the VMI Invitational, Alicia Dawson finished with a 12.48 measurement and is ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic 10 conference and No. 12 in the ECAC. In the 400m, Nina Lavelle, Virginia Beringer and Caroline Donohoe took the top three finishes. In the 4×400, the Spiders took first place with a 3:50.90 time and second place with a 3:53.48 time.

Elizabeth Stockman was at the George Mason Patriot games and took first place in the 1k with her time of 2:46.67. She leads the Atlantic 10 ranks and is the No. 3 all-time finish for the event in Richmond program history. 🏃 See more stats for the meet here.
