Good morning, Spiders. The women’s basketball team was selected to compete in March Madness! The No. 11 seed Richmond will face No. 11 seed Nebraska on Wednesday in Durham, NC. This marks the third straight year the Spiders are playing in the NCAA Tournament.

🔼 Dominated. The No. 2 men’s lacrosse team beat Delaware 17-5 in its Atlantic 10 opener on Saturday. There were 16 different Spiders who recorded at least one point in the victory. Aidan O’Neil led the Spiders offensively with one goal and four assists. Goalkeepers Connor Knight had eight saves, and Brody Murphy had one.

🔼 Big Win. The women’s lacrosse team beat Rhode Island 14-2 on Saturday. This marks the team’s second straight A-10 win of the season. Juliana Stanley reached the 100-point career milestone after scoring two goals and tallying one assist. Alexis Morton led the team with five goals. Maggie Mullen and Abby Francioli each had three saves in goal.

🕷️ ONE BIG THING

National Invitational. The swim and dive team competed at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships. On Friday, three Spiders advanced to the finals. Hannah Wieczorek qualified for the A final in the 100 back and finished in seventh place. The 200 medley took 16th place, and Molly Blanchard also finished in 16th in the 400 IM B final. On Saturday, Richmond concluded the event with three Spiders advancing to A finals. The Spiders finished 16th with 216 points out of 52 teams.
