The women's basketball team is ranked No. 24 in the AP Preseason Top 25 Poll for the first time in program history.

Good morning, Spiders. Our women’s basketball team has been ranked! The Spiders are No. 24 in the AP Preseason Top 25 Poll. They are the only mid-major program represented in the ranking. This marks the first time in program history that Richmond has appeared in the AP Top 25. See Richmond play its first game of the 2025-26 season on Saturday at 11am ET against Norfolk State.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 First-Ever. Two football players were named to the program’s first-ever Patriot League Weekly Honors. Ja’Vion Griffin was named the Special Teams Player of the Week. Ned Gray earned Rookie of the Week. The Spiders beat Colgate 24-19 this past weekend, their first-ever conference victory as members of the Patriot League. 🏈 Read about their performances.

🔼 Part 2. Field hockey player Clara Larripa was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. She led the Spiders with two goals on five shots on goal in road victories over Davidson and Queens. 🏑 Learn more about Larripa.

🔼 Top 4. The men’s golf team finished fourth at the Bash in the Boro. The team had an overall score of 860 (-4). Lucas Rizo-Patron led the team tying for 11th place overall with a score of 212 (-4). Carson Baez tied for 16th individually with a score of 214 (-2). ⛳️ See each golfer’s score.

Sophomore goalkeeper Veronica Rrapi was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week. This is her first weekly award of her career. Rrapi recorded five saves to secure a 0-0 draw on the road against Loyola Chicago. She finished with a 1.000 save percentage and her fifth shutout of the season.

Annual Giving. Richmond Athletics named Page Farmer the new Assistant Athletics Director for Annual Giving. She previously was at Duke for four years, where she was in a variety of advancement roles. Farmer will oversee the management and strategic planning of the annual giving efforts, with the aim of supporting the Athletics Annual Fund as well as discretionary funds for each Spider sports team. 🕷️ Here’s more about Farmer.
