Baseball catcher Dylan Winebrenner was named to the 2026 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Watchlist.

🔼 Caught! Baseball catcher Dylan Winebrenner was named to the 2026 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Watchlist. The award recognizes the nation's most outstanding catcher. He is the first Spider to be named to the award’s watchlist award since 2021. This season Winebrenner leads the team with a .330 average, collecting 37 hits, including eight home runs and 23 RBI for 1.013 OPS. He leads the Atlantic 10 in home runs and is third in total bases (66) and fifth in slugging percentage (.606).

🔼 Midseason Honor. Women’s lacrosse player Alexis Morton was named a Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-American. Through nine games, she has tallied 59 points on 32 goals and 27 assists. She has also collected three ground balls and caused six turnovers. As the team's leading goal scorer, Morton has helped lead the Spiders to a 9-2 record and a 5-0 mark in Atlantic 10 play. Nationally, Morton ranks No. 10 in points per game (5.40) and is tied for No. 23 in assists per game (2.30).

🔼 Series Opener. The baseball team won the series opener against La Salle. The Spiders shut out La Salle 6-0 on Thursday. Michael Elko finished the day going 4-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs. Chase Topolski earned the win on the mound after throwing 5.3 innings and striking out five batters.

🔼 Ruled the Court. The men’s tennis team beat William & Mary 4-1 on Thursday. Davis Wiley delivered a clutch three-set victory on court one. Richmond won one doubles match and four singles matches.

🤔 SPIDERS TRIVIA

Top Three. The women’s golf team had three players named to Atlantic 10 weekly honors for the first half of the spring semester. Addie Doroh was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week for the weeks ending on Feb. 6 and March 6. Maya Beasley earned Golfer of the Week up to March 13. Hannah Lydic was named the Women’s Golfer of the Week for the week ending March 6. The men had two golfers honored with Atlantic 10 weekly honors for the first half of the spring semester.

Double Threat. The women’s tennis team had two players named to Atlantic 10 Conference weekly honors. Abby Lee was named the Co-Player of the Week. Beatriz Guerra was named the Rookie of the Week. Lee went 2-0 this past weekend. Guerra delivered a strong performance in the team’s win over East Carolina.
