📈 STOCK UP

🔼 First Dub. The women’s basketball team won its first game of the season! The Spiders beat Temple 79-72. This was the first time the Richmond beat the Owls since 2006. Rachel Ullstrom had a career-high 32 points. She is the first Spider to post 30 or more points since 2016. Alicia Newell debuted on the team and had a team-high seven rebounds. 🏀 Read more about the victory.

🔼 Weekly Honor. The Coastal Athletic Association named freshman kicker Sean O’Haire the Special Teams Player of the Week. He was also named the Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week. He contributed 17 points in the Spiders win over Towson. O’Haire went 5-5 on field goals, matching the most in the FCS this season and a Richmond program record. 🏈 Here’s more about his performance.

🔼 Match Results. The women’s tennis team competed in the Liberty Hidden Duals. Lainey O’Neil and Abby Lee had one doubles win against ECU. Lee also had a singles win. Lucy Webber beat ECU in a singles match. 🎾 See all of the match scores.

Jeremiah Grant is a defensive end on the football team. He recorded five tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two quarterback hurries against Towson last weekend. Grant was named the Coastal Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week. The redshirt senior leads the FCS with 11.5 sacks and leads the national with 95 sack yards and 1.28 sacks per game.

🕷️ ONE BIG THING

Tip-Off Time The men’s basketball team will open its 2024-25 season tonight at 7 PM at the Robins Center. This season’s roster features nine newcomers, the most in Chris Mooney’s 20 seasons with the Spiders. Richmond will look to improve to 17-3 in season openers under Mooney tonight vs the Trojans of Mount Olive. Weeknight Special tickets are available for $10.
